AB	Maar God stuurde een rups de volgende dag tijdens het aanbreken van de dageraad; die de wonderboom aanvrat, zodat hij verdorde.
SV	Maar God beschikte een worm des anderen daags in het opgaan van den dageraad; die stak den wonderboom, dat hij verdorde.
WLC	וַיְמַ֤ן הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ תֹּולַ֔עַת בַּעֲלֹ֥ות הַשַּׁ֖חַר לַֽמָּחֳרָ֑ת וַתַּ֥ךְ אֶת־הַקִּֽיקָיֹ֖ון וַיִּיבָֽשׁ׃
Trans.	wayəman hā’ĕlōhîm twōl^a‘aṯ b^a‘ălwōṯ hašš^aḥar lammāḥŏrāṯ wataḵə ’eṯ-haqqîqāywōn wayyîḇāš:

AC	ז וימן האלהים תולעת בעלות השחר למחרת ותך את הקיקיון וייבש
ASV	But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd, that it withered.
